Hello Guys,
My two year old Ariens Classic cranks when I attempt to start it but takes several pulls to get it running. It can take me up to 15 minutes to get it to start at times – how do I resolve this problem?
Larry
Hello Larry,
If your trying to mow in colder conditions, it’s possible that your carburetor needs to be adjusted to increase the air fuel mixture – try to increase the dial to the ½ setting or higher. Check the engine valves also for any damage. Damaged wiring can also make to harder to start your engine.
Hello Guys,
I’ve had my Ariens mower for about 6 months now and noticed the strength of the vibrations increase significantly yesterday, it seems very abnormal and makes it hard to hold the handlebars – do any of you know what the reason is?
Phillipe
Hello Phillipe,
There’s a good chance that your blade may have struck something and gotten damaged – I would suggest that you check the status of your blade immediately and do not mow before replacing it as a damaged blade could break without warning. This could be causing the whole unit to vibrate more.
Hello Guys,
My Ariens Ikon mower is not discharging grass at the right speed even when I’m mowing slowly, there’s always an excess buildup in the chute that I often have to clean up – what could be the reason for this?
Joseph
Hello Joseph,
It’s important that you clean your mower every day after each use as not doing so can reduce the effectiveness of the discharge system over time. Also avoid mowing on wet grass. If none of these are causing the problem, check for damage to your blades or the blade mandrel and replace them if required.
Hi Folks,
I picked up my Ariens Apex mower in 2015 and have had no issues with it. But recently I noticed that the battery is not charging, and while the mower is running okay, I’m afraid that the I won’t be able to start it if the battery drains out one day. Any suggestions to fix this?
Pat
Hey Pat,
Check the cable connections at the end of your battery for damage, they could have worn out over time and may need to be replaced if the wiring is exposed. A faulty regular could also interfere with your battery’s charging capacity, as could a faulty alternator – check both these components and replace them if required.
Hi Everybody,
My Ariens Razor model was purchased from a home depot about 6 months ago and I’ve noticed that the lawn is not evenly cut after a session, required more parallel overlaps. I’ve checked the tire pressure and it’s fine – what else should I check?
Matt
Hello Matt
I would’ve suggested the tires but since you already know that’s not the problem, it could be an unbalanced blade – make sure the thickness is uniform on both ends when sharpening. A loose blade can also cause this problem. Check that your blade mandrel is also not bent.
Hello there,
I bought my Ariens Ikon X about one year ago. Last month, the blades began to lose power at times during operation and now they don’t even rotate when power is supplied. Does anyone know why this is happening?
Flint
Hi Flint,
Since you mentioned that you noticed an occasional drop in power while mowing since the last month, it could be that there’s something blocking your clutch system – I would recommend thoroughly inspecting the clutch mechanism and replacing if required. If this isn’t what’s causing your problem, check the drive belts and idler pulley.
Hi Guys,
My Ariens Zoom model is just about 3 years old now, and it’s been running like a charm – I service it regularly. However, the engine stopped working last week and makes an odd clicking noise when I try to fire it up. Any ideas what’s causing this?
Armin
Hey Armin,
It sounds like there’s an issue with your battery, based on what you described especially the sound – check the terminals of your battery for corrosion and clean them. If this doesn’t work, try recharging the battery or replacing it with a new one.
Hello Folks,
I’ve had my Ariens zero turn mower for over a year now and have been happy with the performance – until it refused to start yesterday. What could be behind this?
Sarah
Hi Sarah,
Most of the time when a mower isn’t starting, the problem lies in the spark plug – if it has been a year since you replaced the spark plug (you said you bought it one year back), it’s likely that your plug has fried and needs to be replaced. If that isn’t the case, check the wiring in the spark plug assembly for signs of damage.
